Jay-Z: Fashion Life time achiever or Sell out!!!!!!

Recently my boy Javon a.k.a Hova(yeah how ironic) let me barrow a rap dvd called the Flava Link(the New Haven equivilent to the SMACK and Come up DVD's). Before my sex portable player broke, I was up on all the latest Rap DVD's out. My dvd collection was very extensive. Since then, I haven't been up on the new joints. So basicly I end up peepin the joint on the computer. To make a long story short, the majority of the DVD was about tthe current state of Rocafella Records and the credibility of the man known as Shawn Carter. The DVD, is told from various sides of the spectrum. Starting the DVD off, was the everybody's favorite Champaign bottle holdin, dice dance diddy boppin, loud mouth, hype man Damon Dash. To me his interveiw was the most real, because he told from a man who has not only lost a bussiness partner, but a good friend. Any person could Dame was very hurt by the break up. Not on no, lil girl stuff though. However, it was wild listening to Dame talk. The way he described Jay back in the day, was a Brooklyn Dude, with a Harlem dude's swagger. He went on to say, you can tell by the way he dresses now, he's sort of fallen out of touch with the hood. I find it weired that this talk would be out, since Jay won the number two spot on Esquire Magazines' Best dressed list plus their coveted life time acheivement award. Dame spoke of Hay as the trio's(jay, Dame, and biggs) ambassador. What ever was hot amognst the three of them, Jay rapped about it, causing the mass influence for the streets to run out and buy it. He also remarked that the majority of trends that Jay rapped about wasn't Jay's ideas. It was Biggs. Biggs rolled up with the Iceberg Sweaters first, Bigs came through with the Wild presidential Rolex first, Biggs was the first with the Range Rover. However, Jay gets the credit for all of the trends. I'M GOING TO BE UP FRONT!!!! Over all to me Jay has been a style beast!!!Mind you, coming up I was a not a Jay-z supporter. However, the only think I respect of Jay is the Floss!!! I mean we can take it back to reasonable dout days. Who do you know who can duck a hail of gun fire from females, in a suit, shall, dress shoes, and a godfather hat? Who do you know that can get hits orderd in a yellow suit on a tropical Island? I mean, lets take it back to 95, when jay used to hit hardcore clubs with biggie in silk versace button downs dress pants and dress shoes. Find the old footage, that's how he used to dress. He was personafied as a boss. And that's no different 14-15 years later. He is a boss. To me, Dame's comment was a cheap shot, meaning jay went soft or selling out for corperate America aka the the white man. If we were to say there was a harlem standard of Fly what would it be? If we listen to Jim Jones, he would say, it's Long Johns and some jeans, **** a button up shirt. However, who is the real sell out? If I call out Jim Jones on this whole Rockstar look, I really feel that's a sell out look. How do you invest in tight T-Shirts with White Rock bands , You know nothing about?!!! The nigga probably never listed to a metalica song in his life(oh trust I have!! Enter the Sandman!!!!!!). But, because you live the whole sex, drugs, and music thing, that allows you the right to call yourself a rock star. To me that's way worst than anything jay is doing!! However Jim jones wants to attack Jay. No matter what, Jay is showing the Black Males that soon or later you are going to have to step out of your eliment. Baggy jeans, oversized t-shirts and kicks won't cut it!!! Everybody wants to make fortune 500 company money, but they don't want to do what it takes. If a kid from Marcy Projects can become successful, than anybody can. However, Jay understands the evolution of change. In the hood, the momment you change, you're labled a sell out!!! Or your not being true to your roots. I can't get everybody to understand, the clothes don't make the man. The man makes the clothes. You are still going to be the same dude. Clothes can't change who you are. What did jay say on the black album? You could try to change, but that's just the top layer, man you was who you was befor you got here. That's real, like me, I dress up every day, but that doesn't change who I am or where i'm from. I lived in my neighborhood(Hillside) for 22 years, and i'm 22 years old (figure that out). Because im fuzzed up in a suit daily, does that make me out of touch with the hood? I've seen the same shootings, i've ducked the same bulliets, and the cops look at me the same way. None of that changes. It's just over my lifetime, I've just wanted to express myself differently. Jay hasn't sold out, regardless of what Dame, Biggs, cam, Jim jones, Calvin Klein, or Jaz-o has to say. Where were these guys back in the day? Why didn't the G check him back in Dynasty days or Streets is watchin? Ill tell you why, it's because Jay is a household name now. For every one bad comment in the street about him, theres a million moves Jay is making. calvin Kein speaks on jay, now that he makes the forbs list. I'm telling you, this is much more than clothes. It's a question of character, Image, and principles. Now this is the stuff they need to teach in Public School. Anyway, Jay raise ya bottle of Ace with pride!!!!

Brands That ya FuZz couldn't live without!!!!!

Well where I'm from, I'm considerd an innovator of style. I wouldn't say fashion, because fashion is what's sold to the masses. Style is what gives fashion life. Style is what makes different items, speak different messages on an individual. For example, A coach tie on me, means something different on a man who works at a bank. I may match the teal blue in the in the tie, with a teal blue dress shirt, teal blue Wide brim fedora hat, three peice gre(top. pants and scarf... always got to have a scarf to match the suit, no matter the season) tailor made dashiki suit, with teal blue stacy adams dress socks, with Teal blue Giorgio Brutini square toe dress shoes. Yes, Yes, yes, your saying that's too much Teal for the eye to handle at once!!! But, understand that's the style. Loud, fancy, and elegant. A banker may wear a navy blue suit, white dress shirt, the same coach tie, with black bostinian shoes. Which ever way you do, that's fine. However, it's the style preference of the individual. I'm able to incorperate the Coach tie into my 1930's swing dance, 20's elegance 60's black panther movement, 70's pimp statis flavor. What i'm saying is you can make anything work, as long as you do it with originality. So in this blog entry, I plan to high light the brands that I couldn't live without.

Stacy Adams: This brand has been recognized for two decades as one of the most stylish dress shoes brand in the united states. Over years a pair of Stacy Adams Shoes have coverd the feet of many Preachers, church decons, pimps, playas, old school drug dealers, well dressed hoodlums, and ect. Recently, stacy adams has also ventured off into clothing as well. They are alsso responsable for making hats, dress shirts, cuff links, flashy suits, socks and other accessories. Even though I don't wear suits off the wrack anymore(Tailor made Dashiki suits from my company, The BROWN COLLECTION), i must say, I love what the brand has broght to the table with their suit game. They understand that men are tired of drab colors. So they take their suits to the next level. Yellows, lavenders, mint greens, baby blue ect. Even their patterns, thick stripes, plaids, everything. I mean even their winter collection is raw. If I wasn't into tailor made dashiki suits, I would wear Stacy Adams suits in an abundance. However, I'll stick to their hats, shoes, belts, ties, and dress shirts

Giorgio Brutini: yeah, yeah, this brand is the sworn rival of Stacy Adams. I'm not ven going to get into their long rivalry. But, Giorgio Brutin has some of the sickest shoes in the game. But, I will say this, they both help each other grow. With them always trying to up each other over the years, they bring out the best in each others designs. From suits to shoes. At one point Giorgio Brutini had way better shoes than Stacy Adams. Suit wise Stacy Adams had way better suits than Giorgio Brutini. However, watching each other in compition they helped each other out. Stacy Adams upped their shoe game, and Brutini upped their suit game. As far as shoes go, I still rock with both. Britini has to come back this season with their shoe game. They put so much emphasis into their suit collection, until their shoe game is kind of lacking. Stacy is back on top, leaving them in secondd place.

Mauri Shoes: Now i'll break it down like this, Mauri Shoes are the AIR JORDAN of the dress shoe game. Yes I know, what I said about Stacy and Giorgio. Stacy Adams are like Air Force 1's. A classic shoe that will last decades. Giorgio Brutini is like wearing a pair of Nike Dunks. A great shoe but, it will always come in second. Unlike the other two, Mauri sticks to only shoes. The reason this Italian Shoe brand is the best is because their shoes are made out of Genuine Gator. I would only suggest envesting in them if you don't mind, spending $300-$400 a pair(hey i've worn them, doesn't mean everybody else doesn't mind fronting that much money). For a person who doesn't dress up, that often Mauri's may not be the shoes for you(even tough i'm gona keep buyin them). Now for the younger hood dudes who are not all that comfortable wearing dress shoes, I would suggest wearing Mauri Sneakers. You have probably heard Cam'ron and young Joc talk about them in their songs. In fact if im not mistaken, Cam was the first rapper who endorsed the shoe threw lyrics. In fact Cam was in the "bout bout it" remix, with the sixers fitted, untied du rag flapped underneith the joint, with the sweat suit, with the cream Mauri kicks. I'll never forget he said, I made it so, chicken heads can't pronounce my shoes. This was back in 03. Mauri's weren't that prevelant, but, in New York dudes are rockin em crazy. I take my Godfather hat off to them for investing in these kicks. they kept it FuZzY. They could have invested in some SB Dunks or Jordans, However, they went for straight luxery. Where i'm from in New Haven, all anybody wears is Jordans, Air Force 1(bka UPTOWNS), and timbs. Dudes aren't even up on dunks out here. There was only one kid I saw, who was up on Mauri's. But, he wasn't your average New Haven Kid. He was up on style in general. He used to wear dress shirts with the matchin tie to school, with some jeans and air force 1's. The next day he did some bapes. But he was original for the New Haven set. So he killed the Mauri kicks to school and turned around and killed Mauri dress shoes to an 8th grade dinner dance(yeah it was an 8th grader).

Ralph Lauren: Now for me I love the Ralph Lauren polo brand. Way before kanye west supposedly made it not boring. But i love the color schemes they broght to the fashion world. from their ties, dress shirts and sweaters. even though, this Ralph Lauren brand is snubbed, but CHAPS, has broght a lot to the table. Yes, it is cheaper than all of the other Ralph Lauren lines however, they have a great base in the brands progress. Chaps has sick Sweaters. I remember back in 2000-2001 when I was in high School, dudes used to rock Izod sweaters and Chaps Sweaters. I remeber when dudes you used to wear them with Khaki's and timbs(2000 Hillhouse vs cross basketball game). They were next in line under the Coogi and Iceberg. I know you are lookin at me crazy but it happened. The Chaps brand was highly respected, but now do to the rise in the horse(as my dad refers to it) and Purple Label, Chaps is left on the back burner. Well I just dig Ralph Lauren in general. I must say this, there is never going to be one specific brand that I love everything in. At the same time there are at least one or two things I feel in every brand. Chaps has shirts, ties, and sweaters that are solid. Yes, I would rock a chaps dress shirt, you just have know how to wear it. I mean, there are dudes who still rock Coogi and Mischino.

Tommy Hilfigure: Now Tommy is another ground breaking brand that has made waves through the fashion industry. Ever since the 5th grade i've always had a peice of Tommy in my closet. I remember when I had this red. white and blue tommy jacket with the big hilfigure on the back. My dad had the same one. But, what kind of hurt the brand over the years was that silly rumor about him being rascist. i could never understand where that rumor came from. There was never any proof to it. Even if it was taped on the oprah show, there should have been video footage of the telecast that was leaked. Thaty rumor had been going on since the 5th grade and I was what? 11 or 12 and im 22 now? I'm just glad they cleared the air on the oprah show recently. Really i never stopped wearing Tommy. Like Junior Year of High School I was rockin Tommy heavy. I had atleast 10 Tommy Hilfigure Button Down Shirts. I was so bad, until I wore the tag still on them to let you know they were official. people used to come up to me asking me, Why do I still support that Rascist? like I used to say, I need proof that he said that. However, nothing can stop the brands contribution to the game!!

All lil bit of this and that from the FrEsH-KiNg

yeah ya'll this is ya boy YOUNG MZA aka Milt fresh a.k.a the best dressed comin to you live from the blogger!!! Let me just tell you a lil about myself. I am a man of principle, a man of action, and a man of style. I am a hard working individual from New Haven, Ct. My number one way of expressing myself is through my dress code. If I had to describe my style it would be loud and fancy!!! Or I would just use the term fUzZy. The way you see me in this pic is the way you'll see me anywhere. God, blesses me with the chance to wake up in the morning, so I feel everyday god gives me, is an event within itself. So I dress up 365 days and 366 on the leap year for an event called life. There are no days off!!! People look at me funny when I tell them that. People look at me funny when they see this young man who looks like he should be attending a sunday morning service, walking down the street, or walking in the mall with the love of his life (hey veeronica!!!).
well, anyway I can date my love for clothes all the way back to 95 and 96, when I was in the 5th and sixth grade. I used to watch videos and by the source, just to see what my favorite rappers, had on. Back then and even to this day I've been a huge Wu-tang fan. I was in love with all the different trends that they set in the game. From Ghost and Raekwon wearing silk Versace shirts(even though big and puff are more known for them) with jeans and Wallabee clarks, to just being at the forefront of gritty grimey New York style. But, i realized the clothes on an individual was one thing. But, it was awhole entire image. Your walk, your talk, what are your interests, what are you exposed to, what environment you come from, what are you all about? Does your environment play a part on who you are as a person?what types of actions do you display? Are you an upstanding citizen or are you a low life?
Style is much more than just what you put on your back or where you shop. I mean, lets even go there garment wise. A pair of wallabee clarks on Raekwon meant something totally different from when diddy, mase, and carl thomas wore them in the been around the world video. Wallabees meant something different, when snoop used to wear them in the lugs adds. I guess what I learned that you have to make your own mark on the world. You don'thave to follow trends because that's what the masses are doing. Be original, step outside the box. I hate that term, but it's the truth. 1 million people can't do the same thing. Like AIR-JORDAN kicks. when I was a kid That's all I used to wear. My style in Middle school was a hood prep(I hate it when they do that now). A sweater vest, dress shirt, jeans and Jordans. I even had the eddy jones jumpmans, the vin backer jump mans, the team jordan and had the air jordan low joints. But, the thing about it was, I was a jordan fan. I dug jordan as a ball player. But, in the hood people wore j's because they are supposed to be one of the statis symbols of success. However, to me, over the years, the Jordan Brand company has been very minipulative with there kicks. Especially with there JORDAN RETRO campaign. I love the idea of re-releasing old kicks from my nistalgia days, however, you can't just slap some new colors on some 5's and expect me to by them. Further more, young kids who are just interested in the cool factor, don't bother to even learn about the essence of what Micheal Jordan stands for, but, you'll make your parents give up light bill money to buy into something you know nothing about. Well for me, one day I thought about all that.
So when I went into high school, I stopped wearing sneakers all together. I felt that wearing sneaker didn't trully speak to my creative side. I also felt hood fashion at the time was losing it's edge. Around this time the Throw back jersy's and white t shirts were all the rage in every inner city neighborhood. I decided to go back to the essence in which I was raised. And that was to be an individual not a follower. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with wearing kicks. I love todays sneaker culture, however, I just felt the sneaker began o define my statis. As many children feel all over the world. I wanted my creativity to define me. but, any way. I didn't mean to say all that.. Wait yes I did!!! But til next time, take care of yourselves.

WELCOME!!!!!!

Hello world!!!! I thank you for coming by my blog. For those who don't know my name is MILT-FRESH BkA YOUNG MZA!!! The purose of this blog is for one reason and one reason only. To highlight the life and times of a young man(yours truly) who is caught up in what we call the FUzZ!! What is this FuZz you ask? As much as I hate to use this statement(because it's been heavily used over the past 6 years), it's a way of life. It's a commitment to taking what ever you do to the next level. Mainly fUzZy is practicly used for describing someones style of dress. Let me explain, if your t.v. reception is FuZzY, what's the problem? It's hard to see. If your style is FuZZy, that means it's hard to understand. So in this blog I plan to allow the world the oppurtunity, to bare witness to the fUzZ in it rawest form. From exploring topics in clothing and style, to politics, religion, and really what ever the FrEsH-KiNg feels like talking about!!! So enjoy!!! Tell me what you think!!! really I don't care!!! O.k. I'm just being a jerk!!! but, hit me up
