GBX IZ RAIZIN THE HEAT LEVEL FOR SUMMER TIME!!!!!!!!

GBX haz been hitting hard since their febuary 2010 release date. They continue to bring the ruckus with theze kickz. In the last two yearz there haz been a huge boom of hybrid sneaker bootz and the designerz at GBX (harbor footwear to be exact) are trying to capitalize on thiz market. the dark green iz understated cool(got a lot of fitz that would work with them). The brown iz mean (remindz me of the japanese release of the mitch match Nike terminator kickz). But the head of the pack haz to be the black white. On somebody elze, a black and white polo will do the trick. On me??? lol! black vest, white dress shirt, tie and a fedora. A chill outfit that makez a statement!! D@NGEROUZ!!!!

TOO TOUGH FOR WORDZ!!!

GET LIFTED!!!!

Get Lifted by john Legend waz hiz debut album that introduced the world to hiz soulful tunez. And waz also the another album that stood az the sound track to my life around 2004-05. I remember back in 2004 going to a Kanye west concert at Toad's place( back when college dropout debuted, u'll never see kanye play toads ever again!!!! he'z to big of a name now lol!) and the whole G.o.o.d Music crew waz out. Don C (kanye'z well dressed road manager) waz dj'ing for him. He had hiz other artish GlC with him. But what really had me waz they had thiz light skinned Gentleman at a key board singing the old Gospel song "I'll fly away"(it waz part of a small skit on Kanye'z college dropout). Well I waz impressed with hiz plaing and vocal skillz.
Befor the night waz over I had bought a few mix tapez, one being John legend live at the knitting factory. Which made me a true beleaver in John Legend'z vocal stylingz. For he offerd a sound that waz missing from the R&B world at the time. I mean ur talking about around the time Rapperz started taking it upon themselvez to sing their own hookz. By the time John Legend'z album dropped, it kind of brought the R&B game back to where it waz. But what waz missing? If u asked what had R&B at a stand still for a hot min, u'll get many answerz. but many feel the soul waz missing. Where at one point people were into the Neo Soul movement that waz spawned, many weren't trying to touch the subjectz of true feeling becauze it just didn't sell anymore.
Most of the true soulful artistz could only draw off their own fan basez instead of having a universal appeal that shootz them to the top of the chartz. So john legend had a different approach. And playing the piano and being able to sing made him a force to be reckoned with. I mean on hiz album, the intro just captivated the soul "come on and go with me, therez something new for u to see, i'll take u high," "once u take one hit of thiz, it will feel so good, u'll never want to quit". Letting u know that thiz album iz suppozed to be something u'll never forget. that album spawned a lot of hitz such az "I used to love", the critically aclaimed "ordinary People" , and cloud nine.
But there were other songz that provoked emotion such az "She don't have to know". A tale of two loverz who caught up in world wind of Emotionz while trying to keep their relationship a secret from their signifigant others. IN OTHER WORDZ TWO PEOPLE WHO WERE DOWN RIGHT OUT CHEATING!!!! "When I meet u, I got my shadez on to cover up my eyez, hoping that no body see'z me passing by through my disguise". Man by the time the man said "let's sneak out of town for just a day or three, we'll go to DC and hold handz publicly all through the street, for they don't know u, and the don't know me" I waz done for. I mean me being a gentleman who waz actually caught up in the cheating lifestyle I could relate.( 04, every other night a different female. Avoiding phone callz while out with the main female. Switchin up dinner locationz so waitressez don't tip off the femalez, trust me junk waz stressful).
Then after that there waz the cheaterz cry for repentance "I could change" featuring snoop dog, letting the female understand that i'll give up everything, just to keep u in my world. I could be here all night talking about hiz first album. It waz an R&B album that stayed at the top of the chartz for a while. It even won a few Grammy'z. It takez a lot of artistz yearz befor they start winning Awardz period. But to come out the gate az a winner off ur first try iz remarkable. Winning formula, touching emotionz. something thatz hard for artistz now a dayz to do.

FOR THIZ MOVIE TO BE ABOUT THE HARSH REALITIEZ OF THE 1970'Z PIMP ERA, IT ALSO DELT WITH A LOT OF THE ISSUEZ URBAN SOCIETY FACEZ TODAY. I MEAN WHEN U LOOK AT CONFLICT IN THE STREETZ, ITZ A BATTLE THAT ALWAYZ RIZEZ UNTIL DEATH OCCURZ. AND EVEN THEN IT REALLY NEVER ENDZ. THEN U FIND YOURSELF AT A TURNING POINT WHERE U'VE GONE TOO FAR!!!! BUT BY THEN ITZ HARD TO BACK OUT!!! ALL I KNOW IZ GOLDIE REALLY DID PRETTY TONEY WRONG IN THIZ JOINT!!! LOL!

FOR THE LOVE OF THE FuZz: CEDRIC THE ENTERTAINER!!!!! OH YEAH SUCKAZ ITZ BACK!!!!!!

Yeah ya'll for the love of the FuZz iz back to high light another individual with style. When we look at Black male comedianz it seemz therez a standard dresscode that one must follow when getting dressed. The appearance iz no laughing matter to say the least. I mean there are many well noted dresserz on the comedy circut such az Steve harvey and J Anthony Brown. But I want to talk about one who iz an underdog amongst the style rankz, but iz deffinetly able to hold hiz own. Non other than Cedric the entertainer. Unlike many of hiz counter partz, when Cedric getz dressed it seemz the most comfortable out of everybody. And through whatever he wearz, he'z able to convey a relaxed feel with hiz style. I nean letz be real. Would u ever see steve Harvey wear Sneakerz and a suit??? NEVERRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol!!!! But Ced would! And he doez it with such class and confidence. Letting the world know that yez bigger gentleman can get dressed az well. Over all I love the eefort that black comedianz put into their warbrobe. Which datez back to the 70'z with Richard Pryor in a red suit to the 80'z Eddie Murphy doing stand up in black leather suit. And the idea iz kept alive.

CONTROL YA IMPULSE 2.0
the most riveting play in the world!!!!!!!! NO CHILD WRITTEN AND PERFORMED BY NILAJA SUN!!!!!

Saturday my dad and I decided to go to the New Haven theater to take in the critically aclaimed play No Child. The play waz a one woman non stop action packed thought provoking performance, meant to spread humor but most of all inform the massez, through the stereotypez of inner city public schoolz. A drama teacher who took on the task of teaching acting at one of the worst inn city high schoolz in the district(most of all the worst class in the school). For many of the play attendantz (majority white suberbial typez and blackz who look down their nozez at the hood) thiz reality iz only something they'll only seen dramatized on stage or on screen. But for my dad and I it waz a reinactment of what our job waz for 9 yearz. We've worked with disadvantage kidz and most of all we live amongst them. So we know they're struggle. We know what they go through. They just attend the play, they never lived it!!! anyway, it waz seriouzly thought provoking. Specially being an educator in the inner city. It touched a 1 million subjectz, from neigborhood survival, standardized testing, and ect. It waz the first time I've heard anybody really talk about the no child left behind act and standardized testing in a negative way. Most people feel that test scorez are what makez a child. but really they just treat them az numberz and statisticz, when half the time we're lying to them telling them they're suppozed to be individualz!!!! what a contridiction.!!!! anyway, handz down the best play I ever saw!
